Harriett Ann Cormier Lemaire

Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, 2010, at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Catholic Church in Gueydan for Harriet Ann Cormier LeMaire, 69. Mrs. Lemaire peacefully made her flight to Heaven on March 6, 2010 surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with two types of cancer. Interment was in the Gueydan Cemetery.

Born April 15, 1940, Mrs. Lemaire was a native of Gueydan, where she lived all her life. She was a pharmacy technician at Thibodeaux’s Pharmacy for 36 years and a tireless volunteer for St. Peter School for many years, co-chairing the Bazaar Auction. She was a generous, caring person who touched the lives of countless people through her acts of kindness.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Ronnie M. LeMaire of Gueydan; one daughter, Lydia L. Henry and her husband, Greg, of Gueydan; one granddaughter, Brooke H. Marceaux and her husband, Zack, of Kaplan; two great grandsons, Matthew and Joseph Marceaux of Kaplan whom she lovingly called her “Toros,” her mothers, Earline F. Cormier and Hazel H. Hebert and two sisters, Suzan C. Chapman and Stella C. Theriot.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronda Ann LeMaire; her father, Fred H. Cormier; her sister, Loretta C. Dowd, and her brother, Andrus Hebert.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Matthews & Son Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on March 7, 2010 and continued from 9 a.m. until service time on March 8, 2010.
