Two sentences that most people never thought they’d read (at least not next to each other) - Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday! Let’s go Saints!
After all the buildup and hype, it’s finally game day and the Who Dat Nation is looking on with nervousness and pride. All over Acadiana on Friday, people were wearing their Saints gear to work and the day seemed to feel like a holiday.
Crowley’s Coach Richard Pizzolatto, who seems to have become famous over the past couple of weeks, finally got his tickets on Wednesday and looked as excited as he could be as he prepared to depart for Miami.
“Yeah, the lady with the tickets came through for me and I can’t wait to get there,” said Coach Pizz who is riding with his friend Josh Ardoin. “We have a room near South Beach in Miami that they wanted $490 a night for but after I told them the price seemed kind of high they were willing to work with me.”
Lord only knows what Coach Pizz told them but those who know him know he can be quite willful.
At Lake Arthur Elementary School and many other area schools, the students and faculty celebrated ‘Who Dat style’ as they were allowed to wear their Saints gear to school for $1.
“We’re going to use the money to send to Haiti,” said principals.
Over at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley, Harry Shreve (whom you may remember as the resident who wasn’t changing his clothes until the Saints lost) has been tricked.
“Harry’s shirt was getting pretty bad,” said Southwind’s Shyrie Lewis. “We took his shirt from him when he wasn’t expecting and he wore his LSU shirt while we got his cleaned. Boy was he fussing. He has it back on now.”
The Post Signal and its sister newspapers would like to thank those who have been sending in pictures for the past several weeks and should the Saints win today we ask that you keep them coming (at least for about a week). It is hard to run all the pictures we receive but we’ll do our best to get them in there.
Just today we received a picture of a dog in a Saints outfit that we had to censor just a tad. It seems that Taco was dressed to the hilt but forgot to cover up his bottom half. We send our apologies to Taco but surely he’ll understand that we’re rated PG over here!
However, it’s time to quit reading the paper and just enjoy the pregame festivities that Saints fans aren’t sure they’ll ever see again. The Who Dat nation is finally in the spotlight and ‘next year’ has arrived.
