L.A.H.S. STUDENTS SELECTED TO DISTRICT V ALL-DISTRICT HONOR BAND

Griffin Benoit, left, a student at Lake Arthur High School, and Layne Watkins, right, of Lake Arthur High School, flank Glen Dagenhart, Conductor of the District V Honor Band, Contraband. Both students are members of the Lake Arthur High School Pride and Spirit Band and were selected to the District V Honor Band. The Band Director at Lake Arthur High School is Mr. David Landry.
The following students were selected to the Louisiana Music Educator’s Association District V All-District Honor Bands.
Griffin Benoit was selected as first chair alto saxophone, Layne Watkins as 2nd chair trombone and Zackery Benoit as 3rd overall bari saxophone.
Students were selected through competitive audition January 9th, and performed in concert at McNeese St. University January 30.
Conductors of the Honor bands were Edward Thompson of Flower Mound, Texas and Glen Dagenhart of Houma, La.
LMEA District V includes the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis, and Vernon.
