Council Members Request:
Mayor Giles commented on a letter that had been mailed anonymously to each Council Member concerning himself and the building of the Heliport. He answered some of the accusations stated in the letter. Council Member Dorothy Charles stated “I don’t like letters they don’t sign. I want to know who writing me.” Council Member David Hanks stated “We have a meeting the first Wednesday of every month and if you have a gripe, a complaint, or if you want to pat us on the back, whatever, this is the place to do it. Don’t be a coward and send us some letters, unsigned, with ridiculous, false accusations.” Council Member Ellsworth Duhon stated “I think everybody on the Council agrees with what David said.”
Mayor Giles said “I just hate that this situation has come up because it’s just not the way to do business. I work 24/7. I work seven days a week. If they got something they want to talk to me about, come talk to me.”
Mayor Giles announced that the Easter Egg Hunt will be on March 21, 2010, the week before we usually have it because on March 27, 2010 the band, River, will be here. Also, on April 10, 2010 a car show and a band will be here and it will be televised that it will be one of their stops.
