FOURTH OF JULY WATERMELON EATER: Eli Wayne Lincecum, the one-year-old grandson of Larry and Theresa Lyons of Lake Arthur, has a grand time eating cold watermelon this past Independence Day, July 4th.

Jean Lafitte Pirates RV Club travels to Kaplan

The Jean Lafitte Pirates RV Club traveled to Kaplan to spend a weekend of camping at D White House Campground.

Those Pirates enjoying the campout were Sonny and Hershal Abshire, C.S. and Laudry Darbonne, Lander and Mae Duhon, Royal and Debbie Hebert, Ethel Theriot, Sharon Vincent, and Bobbie Williams.

Becky Credeur was welcomed as a new member of the Pirates RV Club and is now part of the pirate’s mayhem.

Beware, Becky, those Pirates are rascals.

Wilbert and Ida Broussard visited on Friday.

Jerry Scalisi was a guest of the Pirates.

Veterans treated to barbecue dinner at Southwest La. War Veterans Home

Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus members from Monsignor Joseph Peeters Assembly No. 0332 got together July 10th, 2010 at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home (SWLWVH). The group cooked up lunch (hamburgers) for SWLWVH resident Veterans and staff members. The fourth degree Knights are the “patriotic” arm of the Knights of Columbus and plan for this yearly cookout event.
