Race card fraud

Credit card fraud is a serious problem. But race card fraud is an even bigger problem.

Playing the race card takes many forms. Judge Charles Pickering, a federal judge in Mississippi who defended the civil rights of blacks for years and defied the Ku Klux Klan back when that was dangerous, was depicted as a racist when he was nominated for a federal appellate judgeship.

No one even mistakenly thought he was a racist. The point was simply to discredit him for political reasons-- and it worked.

If you could spend vast amounts of other people’s money just by saying a few magic words, wouldn’t you be tempted to do it? Barack Obama has spent hundreds of billions of dollars of the taxpayers’ money just by using the magic words “stimulus” and “jobs.”

It doesn’t matter politically that the stimulus is not actually stimulating and that the unemployment rate remains up near double-digit levels, despite all the spending and all the rhetoric about jobs. And of course nothing negative will ever matter to those who are part of the Obama cult, including many in the media.

An open letter to Al ‘Casanova’ Gore...

Editor’s note: Since super-elitist Al Gore is being accused of alleged sexual assault by some woman from Oregon now, I’m penning this letter in hopes that he will come clean and provide answers to the “small people” of this planet. I’m also using a few of the many Global Warming phrases Mr. Gore has used in quotations in addressing him.

Dear Mr. Gore,

Say it ain’t so, Big Al or tell me that it is.

I’m just “sweatin’ it out” these days to find out if you really did grope that 54-year-old “sultry” masseuse lady up in Portland, Oregon as she allegedly claims.

Degeneration of democracy

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics. Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler’s rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.

“Useful idiots” was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Oil and snake oil

The big oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is bad enough in itself. But politics can make anything worse.
Let's stop and think. Either the government knows how to stop the oil spill or they don't. If they know how to stop it, then why have they let thousands of barrels of oil per day keep gushing out, for weeks on end? All they have to do is tell BP to step aside, while the government comes in to do it right.

Random thoughts on the passing scene:

All sorts of “global warming” advocates have all sorts of ideas for cooling the planet. I would be happy if they would just cool the rhetoric.

A newspaper headline said: “U.S. Growing Impatient with Iran.” Boy, won’t that scare them to death? If they keep going, and make enough nuclear bombs to blast us to smithereens, we will go to the United Nations and get a resolution passed, condemning their actions-- or, if the U.N. won’t go that far, deploring their lack of cooperation.
