Melvin LaCombe
Lake Arthur: It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Melvin LaCombe, 86, announces his passing on Wednesday morning at the Southwest La War Veterans’ Home.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Clyde Thomas officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. and will resume Friday morning at 8 a.m. until time of service.
MRS. BARBARA ANN JEFCOAT MOORE
LAKE ARTHUR--Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Jefcoat Moore, 71, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Rev. Susan Pugh officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
Mrs. Moore died at 4:08 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Lafayette General Hospital.
Landry “Buddie” Mouton
GUEYDAN– Landry “Buddie” Mouton entered this world on April 1, 1933, to Alma Perry and Clarence Mouton. He was a man of great passion, humor, honor and a very hard working man. He served in the United
States Military for seven years and worked in the oilfield for 23 years. Landry enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. He opened Mouton and Sons Landscaping leaving his signature all around the community with flowers, plants and trees. He will be greatly missed within the hometown community.
LAURISE V. BECK
Laurise V. Beck, 93, of Port Neches, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Beck was born August 16, 1916, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to Eloise and Nick Vencent.
Funeral service for Mrs. Beck were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Dr. David Higgs officiating.
Interment followed at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends was held Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Douglas “Doug” Joseph Lyons
Lake Arthur: Funeral services for Douglas “Doug” Joseph Lyons, 43, were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Clyde Thomas officiating.
Doug was called to his Heavenly Father Saturday morning from his home in Lake Arthur.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 4:30 p.m. until the time of his services on Wednesday. A rosary was recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Doug was laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Alfred Joseph Huntsberry
CROWLEY - On April 16, 2010 at 2 a.m. at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley our Lord and Saviour called his son Alfred Joseph Huntsberry home to be with him for eternal rest.
Alfred Joseph Huntsberry was born on July 27, 1953 in Lake Charles to the late Mr. Alfred Huntsberry and Mrs. Mary Gladys Huntsberry. He accepted Christ as an early age and attended St. Peters Catholic Church in Gueydan until he joined St. Theresa Catholic Church where he as a faithful member until his death.
