SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 25, 2010 6:00 PM
The Mayor and Board of Council Members of the Town of Lake Arthur met this day in special meeting. Notice of the meeting was duly exercised as per requirements of open meeting special meeting laws.
Mayor Giles called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Town Clerk Cynthia Mallett offered the invocation. Mayor E. R. Giles led the pledge of Allegiance.
Town Clerk Cynthia Mallett called roll and the following were present: Mayor E. R. Giles, Council Members: David Hanks, Dorothy Charles, and Ellsworth Duhon; also attending was Town Clerk Cynthia Mallett. Absent were Council Member Cindy LaPoint and Kirk Conner. No representative from the Lake Arthur Sun Times was present. No citizens were present.
It was motioned by Ellsworth Duhon, seconded by Dorothy Charles to approve minutes of regular meeting held January 6, 2010. The motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Giles read the title of the introduced Ordinance No. 532. There were no comments or questions.
It was motioned by Ellsworth Duhon, seconded by Dorothy Charles to adopt Ordinance No. 532. The motion carried unanimously.
ORDINANCE NO. 532
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 520, ENACTING A BUDGET OF REVENUES, EXPENDITURES, AND TRANSFERS FOR THE TOWN OF LAKE ARTHUR FOR FISCAL YEAR AUGUST 1, 2008 AND ENDING JULY 31, 2009
WHEREFORE, certain actual revenues received, expenditures incurred, and transfers made by the Town of Lake Arthur in the Street and Alley Maintenance Fund, Drainage Fund, and Sales Tax Account has receded or exceeded the actual budgeted amounts pursuant to the budget of revenues, expenditures, and transfers for the fiscal year ending July 31, 2009 for the Town of Arthur,
AND WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Council Members for the Town of Lake Arthur need to amend its 2008-2009 fiscal budget;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the budget of revenues, expenditures, and transfers for the fiscal year August 1, 2008 and ending July 31, 2009 for the Town of Lake Arthur are hereby amended as follows:
Street & Alley Maintenance Fund Original Amended
Total Expenditure $182,180.00 $322,180.00
Sales Tax Fund Original Amended
Sales Tax Revenue $680,000.00 $660,000.00
Transfers Out $680,000.00 $660,000.00
Drainage Maintenance Fund Original Amended

THUS DONE AND INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Council Members for the Town of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, held on the 6th day of January, 2010.
After a public hearing was held on the above Ordinance, the title having been read and the Ordinance considered, on the motion by Ellsworth Duhon, seconded by Dorothy Charles to adopt the Ordinance, a record vote was taken and the following result was had:
YEAS: Ellsworth Duhon, Dorothy Charles, and David Hanks
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Cindy LaPoint and Kirk Conner
ABSTAIN: None
WHEREUPON, the presiding officer declared the above Ordinance duly adopted on the 25th day of January, 2010.
